February 2012 News

Well February has kicked off to a wet and soggy start but hopefully we will see some sunshine soon!

We are very excited to announce that we will have some new ponies joining our stud in May 2012.

Arriving to our stud will be Domino Downs Butterscotch Bear and Cream (Palomino homozygous tobiano colt), Domino Downs Lil Cherub (Chestnut tobiano mare), Domino Downs Silver Tinsel (Silver taffy filly), Kanimbla Silver Petal (Silver taffy mare), Chillie Wynds Ima Top Lil Girl (Black & white overo mare). We extend our greatest thanks to Leanne & Jon Baker from Domino Downs Stud for the amazing opportunity.

These ponies will be used for both showing and breeding and we look forward to seeing both their show performances and their progeny.

Our broodmares have and are currently being joined with our stallions to create our next crop of Wishaw Glen babies. We expect a wide range of colours and patterns with outstanding conformation like their parents.

We have had almost all of our ponies colour tested to allow us to have the best chance of breeding the colours and patterns we desire.

Our foals for sale are dwindling down quickly and we wish all the best to their new owners.

We will be attending a few shows coming up soon, so hope to see you all there!

January 2012 News

Well Happy New Year Everyone!! Let's hope this year is a safe and prosperous one for all!

We have had a beautiful new year's gift of a stunning palomino tobiano filly out of WG Red Hot by DD Colored Tango Bear (Weegee). We are absolutely wrapped with her, this is Weegee's first foal!

We have had lovely warm weather so far which is a nice change from all the cold wet weather we have been having in December. We are yet adding more paddocks and facilities to our stud, with stables now in the barn, and more stallion paddocks.

We have sold our beautiful little boy WG Silver Star to a lovely home and he will be leaving to live with them later in the year.

We had a very successful day at Bowral show with WG Silver Arrow taking out Reserve Champion Stallion or Colt, which was great considering he hasn't been shown, washed or clipped in 2 years ! LOL He was a very well behaved boy!

All our foals are now on the ground, so we can go back to having a full night's sleep! We are very impressed with all our foals this season and have decided to retain a few more than we usually do, it was a particularly good season!

Good luck to all at the shows and hope to see you there!

December 2011 News

*** Update: Annangrove Elle has foaled a beautiful silver dapple taffy colt by WG Silver Arrow on 17th of December 2011. See him on our foals page!

*** Update: Wishaw Glen Cinnamon Dream has foaled a beautiful black and white colt to Plum Lane Makin A Splash on 9th December 2011! See foals page for more details.

Well December has kicked off to a fantastic start! We have had nice warm weather which our foals are greatly enjoying.

We welcomed another foal on the 3rd of December, a beautiful black and white colt out of WG Silver Lining by Plum Lane Makin A Splash. We also received colour test results back for WG Mia showgirl confirming she is a very rare smoky cream tobiano, and also for WG Limited Edition that he is a homozygous tobiano!

We have been very blessed with so many stunning foals this season it will be a hard decision of who stays and who goes.

When the decision is made those on the waiting list will be notified first and after that they will be publicly offered for sale on our web site.

We have 3 mares left to foal WG Red Hot X Domino Downs Colored Tango Bear, Annangrove Elle X WG Silver Arrow and WG Cinnamon Dream X Plum Lane Makin A Splash.

We are really looking forward to these 3 babies arrival!

November is the month we have been looking forward to all year! It's the month the first of our foals are due, however Melly (Thorpeville Melysa) gave us an early surprise with the birth of our darling little girl WG My Girl Lollipop at the end of last month!

October was a very up and down month for us emotional, Lolli coming in to the world was a definite high, but losing Ambaura Heidi's foal just 6 weeks early was a real low.

We are looking forward to a positive month in November, with 4 of our mares looking like they will foal within the next 2 -3 weeks.

We are very excited to have more babies safe and sound on the ground, and I'm sure Lolli will enjoy having a play mate!

Will update as they are born. Good luck to all who have foals due this month!

October 2011 News

Wishaw Glen Pappa's Boy

**Update** 30/10/2011 - Our darling little boy WG Pappa's Boy, was born 2 months early due to his mother having a uterine infection. He was a stunning boy with replica face markings of his dad PLum Lane Makin A Splash.
Rest in peace baby boy, always loved always remembered.
xox

**Update 23/10/2011** -  Our beautiful little filly, WG My Girl Loillipop was born at 3pm in the afternoon. Our first ever day time birth! All went smoothly and both mother and baby are doing extremely well. We are over the moon with this little girl and she will be retained by our stud.

Click here for more info & photos.

Well for the 2nd month of Spring it's a bit gloomy. We have had plenty of rain over the long weekend and the ponies look like drowned rats! Hopefully the weather fines up a little in the coming weeks, as today (4/10/11) is exactly 1 month away from our first foal due date!

We have finished building the Prenatal, Maternity & Nursery paddocks so that all stages of foaling are monitored and cared for to the best of our ability. Foaling kit, foaling alarms, and floodlighting is also ready and waiting! LOL

We have greatly enjoyed watching everyone's foal photos and seeing who had what. Congratulations on all your beautiful foals!

We have also finished building our breeding paddocks to accommodate owners who bring their mares to stud. Owners will have peace of mind leaving their mares in our care when they view the effort we have gone to, to ensure each mares health and wellbeing.

Good luck to those with foals still due and hopefully by next month's update I will have some beautiful foals to report on.

September 2011 News

* 17.9.11 Update:  Sadly on Saturday 17th of September 2011 our beautiful gelding, old Jackie boy passed away peacefully in his paddock surrounded by his girls. He didn't have the best time early on in life, but since he came from the RSPCA to live with us, he has lived out the rest of his days happily with his mares. He was over 30 years of age and spent his later years in horsey paradise! We will miss you beautiful boy enjoy the pastures of Heaven.

September and Spring are here at last! I have been enjoying looking at the lovely photos of other studs new foals born on the internet forums, and am so looking forward to our foals arriving also.... not long now!

All the pregnant mares are doing well, lovely big baby bellies, and udders are growing nicely.

Show season is in full swing and we are looking forward to getting out and about with our ponies over the coming months. AMPS Southern Districts at Albion Park will be a definite for us, which we are really looking forward to.

August 2011 News

* 21.8.11 Update:  Sadly on Sunday 21st August 2011 we lost our Tilly due to liver failure. She passed away when Heaven called her, and joins her son WG Lil Swagman. Our darling Tilly you will be greatly missed, but you now get to look after your baby who must have needed you more. You leave a hole in our hearts and herd, but enjoy the green pastures of Heaven with your baby boy. Love always xoxo

* 18.8.11 Update: The first of the Wishaw Glen babies born this season was Lil Swagman, unfortunatly he was 3 months premi. He has now joined our other babies in Heaven. Rest in peace our little darling. xox

August has kicked off to a beautiful warm sunny start! We have had so much cold wet weather recently so it is just wonderful to see the sun!

We attended our first show (APSB Young stock Show) at Moss Vale on Saturday 30th of July with our newest addition, Windsong Class Action. He performed beautifully like a seasoned professional and won his Yearling Colt class. We were very proud of him!

Foaling season is creeping ever closer and becoming more exciting by the day. We have a little bit of a wait as the first foals aren’t due until early November. All the pregnant mares are doing well, looking happy and healthy and starting to shed a little of their winter coats.

Show season is also now upon us and we are looking forward to showcasing a selection of our beautiful ponies this season.

We have also created a ' Wishaw Glen Stud' Group Page on Face book which is regularly updated. If you have any questions or queries, or would just like to follow what we are up to please join our group.

Good luck to all those with foals due and best wishes for safe and healthy babies.

July 2011 News

*July Update: 23/07/2011

Our new boy Windsong Class Action (AKA Skidzy) joins Wishaw Glen today. Skidzy is a beautiful bay and white colt reg APSB (Pending). See him on our Youngstock Page.

July has kicked off to a wonderful start! On Sunday the 3rd we attended the Pinto Horse Assoc of NSW Inc Winter Woollies Show at Luddenham. What a fantastic day we had. We exhibited Domino Downs Colored Tango Bear & Domino Downs He’s A Gunn. The Pinto ring classes were not limited to miniature sizes so we had to compete against all height horses even over 14hh! DD He’s A Gunn won 3rd prize out of 6, and DD Colored Tango Bear won 2nd prize out of 8. We were over the moon! Minis rarely get much of a look in when they are up against big horses, but our thanks goes to the judge who judged very fairly and award each horse on its own merits regardless of its size. Pictures are on both the boys’ slideshows.

July has also provided us so far, with some warm weather which has been a nice change from all the cold and wet, however whilst I am writing this the cold wind is starting to whip up.

Foaling season is creeping ever closer and we are so excited to see what this crop of foals bring to our stud. This will be our first season of foals sired by Plum Land Makin A Splash, and also a first for us to have 3 mares in foal to the amazing Victorian stallion Possum Hollow Laird's Glory. To view the matings due this year please see our foal’s page.

Wishaw Glen will be exhibiting at a few more shows this month and in the following months so hope to see you all out there!

June 2011 News

June has been rather wet here so far. Our poor soggy ponies have quiet had enough of the rain. Thankfully we have had some sunshine the last 2 days which has been lovely and helped the ponies to dry out.

We will be working hard this month and the following few, to prepare for the upcoming foal season. We are adding extra foaling paddocks so our mares will be in very close proximity to our house and foal alarm system to ensure the safest possible births. The earlier mares due have started showing definite signs of pregnancy with nicely growing milk veins and lovely large tummies.

We will be attending our first shows in the upcoming months, with our youngsters. The main show team for this coming season will be 4 of our Ponies all with Domino Downs prefix; Colored Tango Bear (see him on the stallion’s page), He’s A Gunn & Makin Magic (See them on the foal & for sale page) & Twilight Eclipse (See her on the mare’s page). Look out for these beautiful ponies at the shows as we plan to attend IMHR Young stock, Pinto NSW Winter Woollies, & APSB Young stock, in July.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone at the shows.

May 2011 News

May has been chilly and windy so far, with the poor ponies are barley getting their rugs off for more than a few hours on the odd sunny day.
Our new Mares have settled in well and are enjoying eating their little hearts out in the long green grass.
The little colts are doing very well and have been clipped, washed and rugged ready for the upcoming show season. These colts are very well conformed and striking and will be amazing assets to studs looking for both a show pony and stud stallion. (See our For sales page for more details.)
Our herd of mares have ever growing tummies hopefully containing our beautiful healthy 2011 season babies and not just fat! LOL
We are also looking forward to showcasing a few of our ponies, who for them will be their first time, this coming show season.
Look forward to seeing you all at the shows!

April 2011 News

April Update 21/4/11 - We are very excited to announce that our beautiful new additions arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon from Domino Downs Stud in Victoria. They are all doing very well although tired and worn out from their long journey. New pics will be added shortly to the mares page & foals of current season page.

April has sprung off to a wonderful start! We have now moved into our new home and are thoroughly enjoying being on site full time with our beautiful ponies!

Our stunning little colt WG Lucky Star has been sold to a wonderful home with Pat and her family. He will be a family pet to Pat and her beautiful granddaughter Stella. We wish them all the best!

The time is also drawing closer to our new editions arriving from Domino Downs which we are very excited about. Only 2 weeks to go!

Our broodmares are all doing well, and are looking very glamorous as the pregnancy hormones start to kick in. We are looking forward to our upcoming foaling season to see what Mother Nature is going to provide us with!

Also now that all of our 2010/2011 foals have been sold, we are taking names on our foal waiting list for the 2011/2012 season, so be sure to put your name down if you are interested so you don’t miss out.

March 2011 News

March has so far been an exciting month for WG. Our home is almost complete and we should be moving in shortly. Our local show is on this weekend, 11th &12th (Robertson Show) which is one of the best country shows I attend all year.

We will be taking a selection of our ponies to compete in the Shetland & Mini Pony classes.

WG November Rain has now arrived at his new home in Goulburn with Susan and her family. Noddy will be their family pet and companion. We wish Susan and her family many fun and happy times with Noddy.

We have 1 more foal for sale, WG Lucky Star. Once weaned if Lucky is not sold, he will be showcased at the upcoming foal and young stock shows. Watch out for this boy in the ring as he is a very striking, eye catching pony!

Fingers crossed by the end of this month we will be living at our stud in our home, which we are very excited about.

Our mares seem to have all gone in foal at this stage, so fingers crossed for a high percentage of pregnancies this year.

Plum Lane Makin a Splash & Domino Downs Colored Tango Bear are being offered at Public stud for the first time in the 2011/2012 breeding season. We will only be taking on a limited number of mares to these boys as they are also part of our show team.

We are also very excited as the time draws closer to our new additions from Domino Downs stud joining us. Their travel dates have been booked for mid April, so we will have our beautiful ponies arrive prior to the Easter break to allow us to be home whilst they settle in.

February 2011 News

Welcome to our February update!

Wishaw Glen has some exciting months ahead with our foals starting to be weaned and going off to their new homes as well as some new additions joining our stud in mid april.

Wishaw Glen has now finished our foaling season and we have had 5 beautiful foals born to us. Throughout the past 12 months we have endured great sadness in losing some of our beautiful ponies. 2 of this seasons foals and also our stud's foundation mare and best friend Kildara Blue Berry Muffin (Muffy). We miss all of them dearly and they will never be forgotten. However we are now pressing forward and looking positively to the future of our stud.

We have also been building our new home over the last year, and we are now only 2 weeks out from completion. We have also spent the past year refencing and constructing new fencing so that our beautiful 25 acre property is set up to offer our own ponies, and mares that come to stud, the very best possible care, that will meet all their needs and desires. We now have individual electrified paddocks for each of our stallions, with a central lane way system. We have also constructed a well protected, shady, lush nursery paddock where our mares can calmly and safely deliver and raise their foals within close proximity of our house so they can all be monitored via our foaling alarm system.

We will also be adding a new stable complex and wash bay that will be constructed in the coming months.

Wishaw Glen Lil Ray Of Sunshine will be departing from WG in late March 2011, and has been sold to Ange from the Sunshine Coast in QLD who will be offering Sunny the very best of loving homes. He will be used for both showing and breeding, and we can't wait to hear about his development & progress.

Wishaw Glen Summer Rain has been purchased by our good friends Judy & Ray as a house pet and friend for their grandchildren. Summer will have an excellent home roaming their pretty paddocks and entertaining children. Summer will be leaving WG in mid April 2011.

Wishaw Glen Livin On A Prayer will be going to his new home to live with Robyn and her wonderful animal loving family near Brisbane in QLD. He will be both a house pet and stud stallion. He will be departing WG for his new home in late March 2011.

We have 2 more foals for sale, WG Lucky Star & WG November Rain. Once weaned if they are not sold, they will be showcased at the upcoming foal and young stock shows. Watch out for these boys in the ring as they are very striking, eye catching ponies!

Over the past few months we have been planning and matching our mares with what we believe are the best possible matches for next year’s foal crop. If you would like to view our matings due for the 2011/2012 season, CLICK HERE.

We are also very excited about a few new additions that will be joining WG in late April. Our wonderful friend Leanne from Domino Downs has allowed us to purchase some beautiful ponies from her, of which we are very grateful! See Mares Page & Foals of current sesaon page for photos.
