Wishaw Glen Miss Sumi was the 3^rd puppy born on the 14th of October 2009, in our first litter of puppies and is a Tri colour (now desexed) female.

Her 2 bothers were born first and where relatively small, but Sumi was very large and very fat and became quiet stuck. She was born breach (Back to front, or back legs coming out first) and when her bottom and rump appeared her mother Missi did as she thought was right and broke the bag and chewed through the umbilical cord. Only problem was that her shoulders and head were still stuck inside and she now had no oxygen and was drowning, I wiggled and turned her but she wouldn’t budge, I then greased her up with Vaseline and with my pinky finger managed to hook around her front leg and get one shoulder out, I then did the same with the other and finally her head emerged. She was blue from head to tail and not breathing.

I have done the St John’s Ambulance course before so I though my only hope was to apply it as best I could to this little puppy, I used one finger to beat her little heart and blew small breaths into her mouth. Suddenly she squealed and gasped for air, yippee I thought!! She’s alive! But it was short lived as no sooner than she come back to us she was gone again, and so I repeatedly gave her CPR 4 times as she kept slipping back to unconsciousness, but then after the 4^th time she cried loudly and started panting and looking for a teat! From that moment she has never looked back!

Sumi went to her first show at Goulburn in early 2010 winning Foxie with the most spots, Minor Puppy bitch, and Best minor puppy in show. We were very pleased with her achievements.

Sumi is now a happy healthy puppy who is as big as  her biggest littler mate and eats plenty too. She is a very sweet girl who loves our attention and cuddles. Sumi will always hold a special place in my heart as the puppy I almost lost.

Wishaw Glen Kennels is a member of the Mini Foxie Club of Australia, and all Mini Foxies owned by us are pure bred dogs who are registered with the society.
