Wishaw Glen Mini Me (AKA Mini) a tri colour entire male, was the 2nd puppy born on the 14th of October 2009 in our first litter of puppies and was the tiniest of the three. Mini was born very quickly shooting out like bullet and was no bigger than my thumb (I have an average size ladies hand). He was so tiny and his neck was so weak he couldn’t even hold his own head up to feed. The following day we took all 3 puppies to the vet to make sure everything was ok.

The vet advised us that Junior & Sumi were fine, but that Mini had very little chance of surviving as he was so small and weak and also had fluid on his lungs. The vet said the best I could do was to plug & hold him on to his mother’s teat as often as possible and hope for the best. Luckily I was on holidays from work for the next 3 weeks so every day for 2 ½ weeks I stayed at home and every 2 hours plugged and held him on his mum’s teat for 15-20 minutes, and every night I would get up every 2 hours and do the same.

Then each day at 7pm I would weigh him on the kitchen scales & record it to make sure he was putting on weight. Finally at about the 2 ½ week mark he put on enough weight and was strong enough to crawl over, latch on and feed himself. After he became stronger the fluid on his lungs also cleared up and he continued to grow in to a happy healthy little puppy.

By the time he was 6 months old he had defied all odds and became the biggest fattest puppy of the littler he is taller than both his parents and siblings. He has the most wonderful temperament, and is so cuddly. When you scoop him up in your arms you receive the biggest kisses and loving groans as he snuggles into you.

Recently he attend his first show at Goulburn in early 2010 and was awarded, Best tri-colour, Best marked in show, first place in minor puppy dog 3 – 6 months and then Best puppy in Show.

Mini will always hold a place in my heart as my little battler who stuck with me and fought the odds and won.

Mini will be standing at stud from November 2010. If you wish to enquire about breeding your bitch, please contact us.
